Barcelona, Spain: Gaudí and gorgeous architecture

" Color in certain places has the great value of making the outlines and structural planes seem more energetic." - Antoni Gaudí

Barcelona, Spain

Pictures of Barcelona are what won me over in Spain. The architecture and art all over the city is just magnificent. Anywhere you walk you will find some type of amazing art. Or, one of Antoni Gaudí works of art.

La Sagrada Familia
The first stone was laid for La Sagrada Familia in 1882. It is still in continuous construction, although when completed I am sure it will be one of the most beautiful structures in the entire world.
Children are not allowed inside some of the structures at all. (just an fyi)

On our Hop on Hop off bus tour we listened to information through the headphones. One of the best parts I heard was a quote from Antoni Gaudi about the timeline of La Sagrada Familia, which is not supposed to be completed until 2026. " I am not concerned with Sagrada Familia being finished in my lifetime, for this is Gods work and for who it is for has all the time in the world." (Not an exact quote, couldn't find it.)

I love seeing how Gaudi called himself God's artist and that in every one of his work there are focuses towards our creator. It's just so so beautiful. If you do one thing in Barcelona, see Gaudi's work.

This post is mostly just random pictures I took all over Barcelona, all just to die for.

That circular building was once a bullfighting ring. Now, it's a shopping mall.
This museum was gorgeous. I wanted to get better pictures but they were setting up for NYE so there were huge speakers in front.

From the Museum's front steps is the best view of the city. You can see La Sagrada Familia in the right corner. Such rich history and beauty. Take me back!!

This was supposed to be Christopher Columbus pointing towards America, however it's COMPLETELY pointing the wrong way #EpicFail.
Barcelona was the an epic dream boat of city if you ask me. The buildings, the food, the ocean all of it. Out of all the places we went this is where I would go back. Hoping to go to see La Sagrada Familia when it is complete one day.
