Finally, the sun has shown itself and given us a break from
the relentless raining. When I say relentless, I am not exaggerating like
usually I do. This rain will be, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
the sun comes out for 2 hours then goes back away then Saturday, blessed
Saturday it graced us with it’s presence, and then on the drive home it started
raining again. BUT, I will just keep it as I was SO thankful for this wonderful
day we had today.
We have not gone to the beach since we got to the island
mostly because for a while it was too cold and then it was too rainy, and then
we would have too many activities. But, today we cleared our schedules and
headed north to Camp Schwab for Schwab fest, but we never went to the festival
we stopped and the beach and didn’t want to leave.
Ian had never buried his hands in the sand so we were a
little worried he might not like it. I should have never worried because then
we couldn’t keep him out of the sand, and the sand out of his mouth.
It was such a fun day with our friends Annie and Victor and
the hundred other crazy marines who were all over the place celebrating. This
beach is on the Pacific side of the island as opposed to the East China Sea
side so there were SLIGHT waves. The other side has NO WAVES. It’s kinda crazy
looking at the ocean and not seeing waves, especially if you are from
California but, I feel it makes for a really good time with the kids and
awesome snorkeling and scuba diving!
So here, enjoy the many sandy faces, and bums of our beautiful
day at the beach.
Ian knocked over the tent, then decided this would be the best activity to date and continued to do this several times. He loved it.
Nothing like finishing off the day with sand on the bare bootie.
